Gain an understanding of the complex issues facing managers of global supply chains and the challenges of the more volatile global economy. Topics include, but not limited to: global dimensions of supply chains; strategic sourcing process; strategic value-adding role operations and distribution plays in the international supply chain; current transportation management strategies used to improve supply chain performance; capabilities of an integrated supply chain information system; coordination and integration of functions across the supply chain; influence of competitive globalization drivers; uncertainty, risk and flexibility in the international supply chain context; aligning supply chains; reverse logistics systems. Examines supply chain practices of many global companies.
