Message from the President

A Message from President Armstrong

This is an exciting time to be part of Cal Poly Solano Campus and Cal Poly Maritime Academy! As we integrate with Cal Poly, we remain deeply committed to our 100-year tradition of maritime education.

Student success is at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment to academic rigor, Learn by Doing, leadership development and global awareness ensures our graduates are ready day one for high-impact careers in an increasingly global workforce.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Led by talented and dedicated faculty and staff, we offer a curriculum that, while unique, is flexible enough for graduates to seek rewarding careers in transportation, business, international trade policy and engineering - as well as the traditional maritime fields.

LEARN BY DOING

Learn by Doing is the foundation of a Cal Poly education - classroom instruction complemented by hands-on experiences in the laboratory, on board Training Ship Golden Bear, and in the world.

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION

The University prohibits discrimination and harassment based on religion, ethnicity, ancestry, and all other protected characteristics. Antisemitism and anti-Zionism may constitute unlawful discrimination when it targets individuals based on their Jewish identity, resulting in denial of rights, benefits, or equal access, or creating a hostile environment. Criticism of a government or its policies, when not directed at individuals because of religion, ethnicity, or ancestry, is protected free expression under the First Amendment. The University is committed to protecting both civil rights and free speech consistent with federal and state law for all individuals.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

We cultivate critical thinking, ethical leadership and global awareness to give students a competitive edge as they navigate their course into the future.

We welcome different perspectives and experiences, encouraging multi-cultural education. Our diversity enriches our educational environment.

By blending rigorous academics, Learn by Doing, leadership development and a supportive campus community, we create an environment where students don’t just learn - they thrive.
